Sustainable Issues Groups

  • Our opening 2007 season featured the first “Zero Waste” Program in Utah.
  • In 2010 PSSM saw over 96,000 visitors and averaged 65 bags of trash per Sunday, and fed 4 generations of pigs with the food waste.
  • In 2011 we saw over 121,000 visitiors and sent only 9 bags to the landfill, an environmental landmark for PSSM. We look forward to serving our environment in 2012.
  • Each week PSSM hosts a local or national sustainability issue organization/group, providing them with free space to promote themselves and the opportunity to speak on one of our stages to educate and inspire our community.  This is part of our community elements programs.
  • PSSM support’s local agriculture and continues to develop its farmer’s market. In 2012 PSSM offered over 96 complimentary spaces to famers and worked with them to educate the community regarding the farm-to-fork movement.
  • We also support Utah’s Own and Slow Food Utah’s efforts to educate the community about buying locally and becoming a sustainable community.
