Park Silly Sunday Market – Intern Positions Fall 2012
At this time we are only hiring interns for credit/Non-paid positions.
Come be involved with the Park Silly Sunday Market! Utah's first zero waste free street festival, taking place June 10 – September 23. The Park Silly Family is a tight, hardworking crew that strives to bring unity to our community. Every week is filled with unique programs, farmers' market booths, musical artists, performers, over 100 vendors, and more! Last year we saw over 120,000 guests and continue to grow.
The Park Silly Sunday Market is an eco-friendly open air market, street festival and community forum. Neighbours and friends come together to celebrate our community of fun and funky Park Sillians. Our mission is to grow and expand the experience of the inclusive quality of community. To create worldwide recognition of Park City, Utah as the place where local, national and international causes are brought to light and addressed in the spirit of celebration and connectedness. Communications/Social Media Intern:
School Credit: Aug – Dec and be available Aug 21 – Sept 25 for Sunday Markets.
Responsibilities will include: 6-8hrs per week.
Ideal applicant will be personable, local, creative, and a clever student; that needs credit for communications, marketing or public relations. Applicant will need to be a strong writer that has their own lap top. They will be responsible for press releases, blogs, and social media.
Program Assistant:
School Credit: Aug – Dec. The assistant will need to be in the office 2 days per week and Sunday Markets Aug. 21st -Sept 25th. Applicants must have good communication skills, be very organized, work well with others, and think on the spot along with the ability to multi-task. They will also need their own laptop. Program assistant will help with kid's activities, Featured Non Profits and Featured Sustainable Issue Groups. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with managing large groups, events, customer service and problem solving. Responsibilities include contract help, follow up, and signage promoting weekly groups during Market season. Work directly with Program Director an Intern Coordinator.
Survey Taker/Stats/Demographics:
School Credit: Aug – Dec and available for Sunday Markets Aug 21 - Sept 25. Applicant must be comfortable with camera and statistics. Compile weekly, monthly and end of season reports. Conduct surveys, welcome guests and collect demographics.
Vendor Assistant:
School Credit: Aug – Dec and be available for Sunday Markets Aug 21st - Sept 25th. Applicants must have good communication skills, be able to think on the spot, and problem solve. They will need their own laptop. The vendor assistant will work with the farmers and gourmet foods component of the silly market, assist with vendor communication, and with market organization. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with managing large groups, city regulations, customer service and problem solving. Responsibilities include vendor outreach, street set up, communication with agricultural and health department along with whatever silly work that needs to be done! Work directly with Vendor Director and Intern Coordinator.
Market Photographer/Videographer Intern:
School Credit: Aug – Dec and be available for Sunday Markets Aug 21st – Sept 25th. Intern will be responsible for weekly photos and videos of the Market. Work with Social Media Intern to post photos and videos on Facebook, YouTube, and other social media outlets. They will play a significant role in weekly attendance photos and statistics collection of crowds. Applicant will need to own a camera; owning video camera and knowledge of editing systems is a major plus!
